Phil Hawley & Associates is a newly established consultancy in the civil engineering and project management fields. 

The organisation was awarded its first brief in September 1999, and has steadily acquired new clients since then. The business is based in the NSW South Coast town of Nowra, but accept briefs throughout Australia.

The Principal of the firm, Phil Hawley, has thirty years experience as a local government engineer, with particular emphasis in waste, environmental, contract and project management.

Phil Hawley & Associates provides services in the following areas:

Local Government

The firm is experienced in the full range of engineering and engineering management services required by local government. We are available to undertake projects in:

• Systems and procedures design and implementation, including OHS&R, Quality Management, Environmental Management and Due Diligence

• Project management of a wide range of projects, including infrastructure, environmental management plans (eg stormwater, estuary and floodplain and coastal management plans), accreditation (eg RTA pre-qualification)

• Asset management

• Project development and approvals

• Contract administration

• Grant applications

• Community consultation

• Engineering design

Waste Management

The firm has an extensive background in waste management, including:

• Landfill design and operation (both putrescible and non-putrescible solid waste)

• Waste collection - contract administration and systems design

• Recycling - collection, disposal and community involvement

• Waste minimisation - working with commerce and industry to avoid/minimise waste generation and disposal

• Regulatory - developing charging regimes and other devices to encourage responsible attitudes and practises with regards to waste disposal

• Investigation of new and alternative technologies

• Strategic planning

• Preparation of Waste Management plans

Project Management

Phil Hawley & Associates is able to apply its project management expertise to a wide range of projects, be they provision of engineering infrastructure, or any other projects (design, community consultation, conferences, investigation or research etc) that require careful management. We will use our project management software to design and monitor the project for you.

Estimating

Phil Hawley & Associates can undertake estimating for you using the Benchmark estimating package, and through our Associates can have the project reviewed for your approval by the Benchmark team so that you can have complete confidence in the estimate. Alternatively, we can train your staff in the use of Benchmark.

Civil Engineering

Phil Hawley & Associates is able to supply services across the broad spectrum of civil engineering activities, including design, construction supervision, and contract administration.
