PEECE VISITS CHINA in 2007
PEECE and JPCD Left to Right: Geoff Webb, Peter Rufford, Director Wang, Vice-Director Chen, Steve O'Rourke, Phil Hawley Four Directors of PEECE Pty Ltd met with senior staff from the Jilin Provincial Communications Department (JPCD) in March this year. Jilin is a province in north eastern China with a population of 34 million people and the JPCD is responsible for the management and construction of transport and communications infrastructure within the province. A series of meetings and presentations were held with JPCD engineers and local consultants, covering issues such as pavement maintenance, pavement recycling, transport planning and environmental issues. A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between Jilin Province Communications and Scientific Research Institute (JPCSRI) and PEECE, committing to further technical exchange and co-operation. The PEECE delegation then went on to Shanghai to consolidate their relationship with the prestigious Tongji University, who indicated that they would support PEECE in their relationship with the JPCSRI.
