Chairman’s Report November 2008
This year has been a year of building the PEECE brand. We have extended our client base with respect to undertaking feasibility studies for local Councils, built a platform for undertaking asset valuation through a strategic alliance with Alf Grigg and Associates, effectively become the preferred supplier of engineering services to Economic Associates and positioned ourselves to broker a highway exchange program between our Jilin friends and the Queensland Department of Main Roads.
Each of these initiatives will continue into the next year and not only increase our revenue but also explore new avenues of activities particularly through the Chinese connection.
I would like to congratulate each of the Directors for the success that they have shown in their own businesses, which allows them to participate in the PEECE business model. Without each Director being successful in their own right, their collaboration through PEECE would be severely inhibited.
One of the challenges we will face this year will be the hosting of the Chinese delegation when they finally decide on dates to come. It will be an exciting show-casing of PEECE connections when we introduce them not only the Queensland Department of Main Roads but also ARRB Transport Research and the State Road Authorities in NSW and Tasmania. I am confident that the agreement that we already have with the Jilin Department will lead to collaborative research that will benefit both parties.
The bringing in of the Queensland Department of Main Roads into a three cornered agreement will serve our collective interests in a way that I believe we have not fully appreciated. It is a very exciting time.
Notwithstanding the state of the economy at the moment our company is well placed to take advantage of any injection of funding into local government infrastructure projects.
Finally, thank you for your support over the last twelve months and I will look forward to chairing your Board over the next year.
